Leonidas was launched in March 2011 as a non-profit organization with the long-term mission of helping to facilitate the effective transition of veterans suffering from emotional and/or physical wounds back into society.

To date, Leonidas has largely accomplished this objective by planning, sponsoring, and executing mountain climbing activities for emotionally and physically wounded veterans, including the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (the highest free-standing mountain in the world) and the attempted summit of Denali (the tallest mountain in North America). We are proud to note that all proceeds from fundraising efforts go to planned events, as Leonidas is staffed by volunteers.
